Schools in Jordan

I’m from Jordan. in Jordan we have an elementary and we have a Secondary School. Both boys and girls go to the same elementary school and the classrooms are mixed. In Secondary School the girls attend in the morning, and the boys came in the afternoon. Female teachers teach the girls, and male teachers teach the boys, but we have the same subject and books.

In college everything is the same; building, teachers, subject, and the same opportunities.

  1. Areej, I found it interesting that boys and girls attend the same school, just different time of the day. Thanks for educating me:)

  3. I think it is interesting how schools are different in other countries. I wonder why the secondary schools aren't mixed by the elementary is.

  5. Which way is your favorite way? I think I would like both, but I'm not sure why. I know I like having both girls and boys in my class, but I might like just all girls or all boys too. It might be fun to try for a week or two.

  6. We had the same system in Syria too, I think each way has its privileges, for incident; I think Schools with boys are a lot more alive:). Thanks for sharing, it gave me a nice flashback about how my old school used to be.

  7. I have a student from Jordan too, Areej! Thank you for telling us how what your schools are like. I love to learn about life around the world! I was just talking to a student from Bangladesh after school on Friday, and she said that boys and girls have separate classes in her country too. She mentioned that she's kind of uncomfortable having male teachers here in the U.S. because she's not used to it. Which way do you like the best?
