What is social justice?

You could be writing an essay that deals with social justice. Where would you start? Do you even know what social  justice means?
Here is your opportunity to let the others in the class know your definition of social justice.
Maybe you will find the definition in a dictionary. Maybe you will definite it in your own words. Maybe one of you will give some examples of social justice that we can share with the rest of the class.

Your comments are due on Sunday, May 12, 2013 by 11:59 pm. This assignment will go towards your writing class grade.

  1. Justice basically means equality, when we talk about social justice I think it means every one is equal in the society, no one bullies no one, and every one have the chance to defend his rights. No one is more “special” than the other we are all equal in this country. Also to be against social problems in our society like racism for example.

  7. The term 'social justice' refers to fairness and mutual obligation in society: that we are responsible for one another, and that we should ensure that all have equal chances to succeed in life. That means that everyone is equal in the society; from the poorest person to the wealthiest. No one has more advantages than the other. For instance:If you want to work and you applied somewhere, it doesn't matter if you are poor or rich, black or colored. Both of you will still have an equal opportunity to get that job.

  8. The concept Social justice is that everyone on the society has his own rights to do what ever he wants, which means there is an equality between the people, it also recognizes the human dignity for every individual no matter what race, religion he or she is.
